Maria Soden, 1893 In the name of God, Amen. I, Maria Soden, wife of Jonathan C. Soden, make and publish this my last Will and Testament as follows: First, I direct all my just debts and my funeral expenses to be paid as soon as may be reasonable after my decease. Second, I give to my daughter Matilda Ayers the pictures of our home, Bureau, Kitchen, Rockers, Clothes, House Quilting, Frames, our bed, and bedding in front room, China Cup and Saucer, Parlor Curtains and large Rocker in Sitting Room. Third, I give to daughter Maggie Riley, wife of Augustus Riley, my China Set, Lace Curtains, Large Glass Dish and six small Dishes to match the Large one and Sitting Room Lounge & $50.00 cash. Fourth, I give to my daughter Mary Adelia Bondman wife of Charles H. Bondman my plush Parlor Suit and Brussels Carpet, bed room Suit, Two Large Vaces, Book of Bible Stories and high glass Cake Dish. Fifth, I give and bequeath my clothes and all my other personal property to my three daughters, Matilda Ayers, Maggie Riley, and Mary Adelia Bondman to be equally divided between them, share and share alike, to them their heirs and assigns forever. Sixth, I give and bequeath to Mary Soden, widow of my deceased Son John P. Soden, the sum of one dollar. Seventh, I give and bequeath to my three grand children, William Soden, Lillian Soden, and Helena G. Soden, children of my deceased son John P. Soden, the sum of one dollar each. Eighth, It is my will and I do order that my executor hereinafter named shall sell my house and lot to any person or persons in fee simple or otherwise at public or private sale at such time and upon such terms as to him shall seem meet and the proceeds thence to be equally divided between my husband's, Jonathan C. Soden and my three daughters, Matilda Ayers, Maggie Riley and Mary Adelia Bondman, share and share alike to them, their heirs and assigns forever. Ninth, I hereby appoint John T. Rosell the sole Executor of this my last will. June 6, 1893 Mrs. Marie Soden, wife of Jonathan C. Soden, died at Freehold on Sunday of last week from injuries received from a fall, by which she broke her hip. She was 76 years old. Mrs. Soden was born near Tennent church and had lived at Englishtown until ten years ago, when she moved to Freehold. Three children survive her. They are Mrs. Augustus Riley of Trenton; Mrs. Charles Boudreau of Patterson, and Mrs. Matilda Ayres of Freehold. |
