LeRoy Kottman Dies Suddenly

Funeral services for LeRoy Henry Kottman, 57, were held Saturday afternoon, Nov. 9, at 1:30 o'clock at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran church with Rev. R.E. Langholz officiating.

Burial was in the Monona City Cemetery. His body lay in state at the church from 12:30 o'clock until the time of the services.

Mr. Kottman died suddenly at his home Thursday morning, Nov. 7, from a cerebral hemorrhage.

He was born a son of Henry and Louise, nee Hoverland, Kottman, Jan. 31, 1906, in Giard township. He was baptized in his infancy at Elkader.

He was married to Alice Lestina Dec. 1, 1925. They farmed in the McGregor community, living on the present farm since 1937.

Mr. Kottman was confirmed in the Lutheran faith Jan. 30, 1936, by Dr. H.W. Siefkes.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons, Harland of Monona, and Gary Lee, at home; his mother, Mrs. Henry Kottman of Prairie du Chien; two sisters, Mrs. Sylvester Lotza of Monona and Mrs. Clarence Lucas of Prairie du Chien; two brothers, Ray of Monona and Lawrence of Dubuque; and three grandchildren; Sheila, Julie and Lisa Kottman, children of Harland.

Music at the services was provided by Mrs. Roger Halvorsen, soloist. Mrs. George Heims was the organist.

Serving as an honorary escort were: William Moses Sr., Barney Whittle, Vincent Ambrose, Harvey Kuthe, John Havlicek, and William Aird.

Active casket bearers were: Tom Lestina, Ben A. Lestina, Edwin Tayek, Ray Lestina, John Froning, Leo Havlicek, John Ambrose, and Charles Lestina.
