Email from Norman Jackson: "Lawrence M. Graves was a nephew to Elnora Graves Jackson. He was the son of Elnora Graves' brother Burt J. Graves and Burt states this in his obit. He did not provide any information as to who the mother of Lawrence was. Chas & Elnora would raise the boy to adulthood as their own. However, when Lawrence reached adulthood he chose to use his true identity ie; Graves. Chas continued to treat him as his son."

   1924 obituary of Elnora Graves Jackson says Lawrence is her son. See her Notes. But the 1905 New York Census lists Lawrence Graves as a nephew living with Elnora and Charles Jackson. Perhaps they adopted Lawrence.
