Miller, and is engaged in agricultural pursuits in McPherson County, Kan.; David wedded Miss Mary Cox, and is a farmer residing near Fowler, Ind.; Laura is the wife of C. B.  According to 'Sethne Family', she married Charles Bert Smalley (1866-1953) in 1888 [divorced him?], Valois C. Roosa (1863-1928) around 1915, and James L. Ridgeway in 1933.
 I believe her second husband was Delois(e) Roosa, son of Abraham Roosa and Deborah Green, born in Ionia Michigan in 1859. He and his parents are found in the census in 1860 in Ionia Co., in 1870 in Barry Co., and in 1880 in Kalkaska Co, Michigan.
 In the 1900 census for Manchester, ward 2, Chester township, Wabash Co., Indiana, Charles B. Smalley is 33 born Nov 1866 in Indiana (father Indiana, mother Missouri) married 12 years, commercial salesman; wife Laura is 30 born Sept 1869 in Illinois (parents Kentucky), with 5 of 5 children living; the children are David 1890, George 1892, Nettie 1894  -- all born Illinois, Berta 1897 and Dorathy 1900 -- both born Indiana. {ed 114, sh 10a, p.39}
 In the 1910 census for North Judson, ward 1, Starke Co., Indiana, Chas B. 43 IN, 'suitcase mfg', and Laura 40, have children David D. 20 IN, Geo K. 18 IL, Nettie H.16 IL, Berta A. 13 IN, Dorothy 10 IN, and Donald A. 3.
 In the 1920 census for North Judson, Starke Co., Indiana, Charles Bert Smalley 53 IN, 'manufacturer suitcases', widower, is living with son Donald 12.
 She may be the 'Lora Roosa' found in Lake Odessa, Ionia Co., Michigan in 1920. Deloise C. Roosa is 60 born Michigan (parents New York), 'factory foreman - milk ??'; with Lora M. 50 born Illinois (father NY, mother Pennsylvania), '(artist?)'; and (daughter-in-law?) [step-daughter] Dorothie M. Smalley is 19 born Indiana (parents Illinois), single, 'teacher - public school'. 
 In the 1930 census for North Judson, there is a listing for Charles Smalley, b. 1867 in Indiana.

 There is a record in Texas Death Records for David D. Smalley, b. 1869 IN to Laura Shankland and Bert Smalley, died 1963 in Houston, Harris Co., Texas.
