A Death notice was published in the New York Times newspaper, dated 13 December 1944. It reads:

“MRS. EDRIC B.SMITH Yonkers Club Woman, Amateur Artist, Dies in Home at 60

Mrs. Laura Seaver Smith, wife of Edric B. Smith, business manager and secretary of the Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research, died yesterday morning at her home, 35 Windsor Terrace, Yonkers, N.Y., after an illness of several months. Her age was 60.

Mrs. Smith had resided in Yonkers for twenty-six years. She was president of the Renaissance Art Club of Yonkers, a former president of the Morsemere Garden Club, a member of the Half-Hour Reading Club, a founder of the Mothers Club of the First Presbyterian Church of Yonkers and a former member of the Canadian Alpine Club.

Besides her husband she leaves three sons, Capt. Edric B. Smith, Jr. of the Army Air Forces; Benjamin Seaver Smith of Schenectady, N.Y. and Cornelius Latta Smith, a student at Harvard; a daughter, Prudence French Smith; a sister, Mrs. Floyd W. Fiske of Westfield, N.J., and a brother, Henry B. Seaver of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.”
