Kenneth D. Watson Kenneth Dwight Watson of Old Fort, died June 13, 2006, at the Rosenthal Hospice in Stanford, Conn. He had gone east to spend his last days with his beloved nephews and nieces, having suffered from cancer for many years. At the time of his death, he was 72 years of age. He was born Sept. 16, 1934, in Oakland, Calif., but spent most of his life in Old Fort. He graduated from Old Fort High School and then attended and graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. The next two years were spent as a private in the peacetime army in Germany. Upon release from the army, he was a salesman for IBM. After several years, he returned to Old Fort where he operated a small trucking company. He is survived by his brother, Ralph T. Watson and his wife, Edna, both of Old Fort. Their son, David Watson, also of Old Fort, survives. Other survivors are his sister, Winifred W. Tart and her husband, Stephen, of Greenwich, Conn., and their children, Stephen Tart of Portsmouth, R.I., Lucy Albers of New York City, and Brook Gaboriault of Wilton, Conn. His parents, Marshall and Norene Fry Watson, preceded him in death him. Later this summer a graveside service for family and friends will be held at Pleasant Union Cemetery outside of Old Fort, where his ashes will be interred.
