CARHART, KENNETH S., SR   RAVENA -- Kenneth S. Carhart, Sr., 72, died Friday, September 29, 2000, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Ken was born in Albany and had lived in Ravena and Voorheesville. He was a Navy veteran serving during World War II. He worked for Albany County Highway Department for 13 years, retiring in 1990. Ken was a member of the Voorheesville American Legion Post #1493. Survivors include his wife, Susan B. Carhart of Ravena; five children, Kenneth, Jr. of MA, April Carhart of Cape Cod, Mark of Guilderland, Edward Lee of NC and Lance of New Zealand; four step-children, Carol Abbie Furman, David Wolfe, Steven Blood and Scott Blood; four sisters, Rita Perrine, Betty Irwin, both of Ravena, Jean Whitehouse of TN and Ruth Ivester of FL; one brother, Ray Carhart of Ravena; six grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Ray and Mina Carhart; brother, Edward Carhart. Funeral services will be held 6:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon, October 1st at the Babcock Funeral Home, Ravena.
