Kathleen Lamendola, 82, died on December 20, 2006 at Fountain West Care Center. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Brooks Funeral Care~University Chapel with visitation 1 hour prior to the service.
Kathleen was born in Orange City, Iowa grew up in Sheldon, Iowa and lived in the Des Moines and West Des Moines area for many years. She graduated from Open Bible College in Des Moines and was a member of the First Church of the Open Bible where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was active in Mother’s Club at her children’s school and enjoyed embroidery work.
She will be missed by her daughters, Nancy (John) Heman of Des Moines, Rosemary (Dennis) Straubinger of Cape Girardeau, MO and Suzanne Lamendola of Des Moines; her grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Amanda and Kristina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick in 1993; her parents, Jacob and Lyda Wobbema and her brothers, Bernard, William, and Henry. Memorial donations may be made to her family. The family would like to thank the Fountain West doctors, nurses and aides for all their special care, attention and kindness during her time there.
