    Kathleen June (Koontz) Shawley, 82, of Hyasota, Conemaugh Township, died Sept. 9, 2003, at home. Born June 18, 1921, in Somerset County. Daughter of Charles Sr. and Maude E. (Beal) Koontz. Preceded in death by parents, husband Lloyd R. Sr., Sept. 1, 1985, grandson Dane Smith, sisters Claire Harmon, Dorothy Jones, Martha Hemminger, and Jean Cristoff-Dick, and brothers Ralph, Walter, James, Charles Jr., Leroy, Robert, and Jack. Survived by children, Carolyn widow of Stanley Lester, Pineville, W.Va.; Kathleen, married to Andrew Zarycki, Stow, Ohio; Lloyd R. Jr. "Bud" married to Sandra Bair, Soap Hollow Road, Hollsopple RD; Dorothy married to Joseph Smith at home, and Linda married to Howard Boyer, Kantner. Also 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Sister of Leonard married to Jane Mull, Somerset RD, Betty, married to Harry Cook, Salisbury, and Carolyn widow of Merle Roadman, Gastonia, N.C. Had attended Jerome Church of the Nazarene and the former Hyasota Mennonite Church. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Route 403 and Church Road, Davidsville, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Rev. Donald Speigle officiating. Interment, IOOF Cemetery, Berlin. Memorials may be given to the Regional Hospice at Windber, 600 Somerset Ave., Windber, Pa. 15963.
