Facts and Events
Thomas Bunce, original settler at Hartford, left Katherine money in his will. They are often listed as the children of James Bunce and Katherine Raynor, seemingly based on a manuscript at the Connecticut Historical Society. However, that pedigree is likely based on an 1830 book of Kent genealogies by Walter Perry. That book lists only 7 children of James, not 11, and does not include Thomas and Katherine. So there appear to be no concrete sources supporting their parentage. Furthermore, the will of Thomas Bunce, while naming his sister "Katharen Clark," does not indicate who her husband might be. The will of William Clark(e) of Haddam mentions his wife but does not give even her baptismal name. It would appear that the name of the wife of William Clark(e) of Haddam is completely unknown. - jaques1724 00:43, 6 November 2014 (UTC) |
