    Peter Fleck married Katherina Gemmer, his first cousin, in 1859, a daughter of Johann Georg Gemmer and Katherina Margaretha Ltober, his wife. (Note: Her name was actually Katherina Margaretha Stitzer or Stotzer.) Their marriage was blessed with 10 children. In 1908 the couple celebrated their golden wedding (50 years) anniversary. Katherina died on 7 February 1913, and with her passing Peter due to grief and the strain of the funeral joined his companion in life and then in death on 20 February 1913 at the age of 76 years. Mrs. Katherina Gemmer Fleck was born in Rettert, Duchy of Nassau Germany on 02 May 1834". In the 1850 Ohio census she is 16 years of age. She died of heart failure, after a short illness, at the age of 78 years of age and left six sons, two daughters and fifteen grandchildren.

    Mrs. Katharina Fleck nee Gemmer died suddenly February 7, 1913, at 4 a.m. She was born May 2, 1834 in Rettert, Duchy of Nassau. She came to this country in her 14th year, first to Tuscarawas County, where she was confirmed by pastor Galster, 5 years later she came with her parents to this area, where she married Mr. Peter Fleck in 1859. This marriage was blessed with 10 children of whom 2 died at a young age. In the last years of her life she was often ill. She was an upright Christian, who humbly loved her Savior, whose word was food for her soul. Although her end came quickly of heart failure, after a short illness, she died in full preparation and in faith in the One who saves, at the ate of 78 years, 9 months, and 5 days. She leaves her husband, 6 sons, 2 daughters and 15 grandchildren. Funeral Text: Ps. 16:6.
