Henry and Kate (through their mothers) were 2nd cousins. Their common ggrandfather was Joseph Lauchnor (1787-aft 1880).

   Mrs. Estella Kate Rex, 98, formerly of 447 Second St., Slatington, died Friday in the Liberty Nursing Center, Allentown. She was the widow of Henry W. Rex.
   Born in Lehigh Furnace, she was a daughter of the late James M. and Rose Ann (Lauchner) Riedy.
   She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Slatington.
   Surviving are a son, Fred H. of Slatington; three daughters, Florence, wife of Walter Angstadt of Walnutport R.1, Dama, wife of Dr. Morton Silverman of Allentown, and Norine, wife of Kenneth Henry of New Tripoli, 37 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
   She was predeceased by three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Kern, Mrs. Adele Snyder and Mrs. Mae Roberts, and a son Allen.
