News Clipping (probably from Macomb, IL newspaper) "Sister Gets Bulk of Kate Kerr's Estate

Kate Kerr of Adair, who died at Macomb on May 6 of this year, left the bulk of her estate to a sister, Francis Maud Dean of Macomb, according to her will which was filed for probate this morning at the office of Country Clerk Herbert K. Hulson. The petition for probate states that she left personal property valued at about $10,000 and the inventory shows over half of it is in cash.

The will first provides that the sister, Mrs. Dean, get all monies and antique furniture left by Mrs. Kerr. The remainder of her furniture is left to Mrs. Dean, a sister, Mae Hammond of Adair, and a brother, James W. Carlin of Macomb. However, Mrs. Hammond and Carlin have died since the making of the will. A fur coat is left to a sister, Bell Peck of Macomb, and the will left a few other household items to Mrs. Dean and the now deceased sister and brother. The will, made July 26, 1946, and witnessed by Guy L. Hughes and J. A. Burnhart, appoints Sarah Burnhardt of Adair to serve as executrix."
