  6. S. S. Peruvian No. 13, in John Dyck, editor, "Quebec Passenger Lists", published in Bergthal Gemeinde Buch (Steinbach, MB: The Hanover-S
    p. 9 (BGB page 294).

    'S. S. Peruvian No. 13 arrived in Quebec on July 13, 1875'
'Gerhd [Gerhard] Wiebe 28 [25] labourer; Catha [Catharina] 28 wife; Cornelius 28 [4] labourer; Katha 4 [1/2] child. Comments: This appears to be B1843-B330. Hamburg/Pacha 26 June 1875 lists Cornelius age 4; Catharina age 1/2 which is correct according to the church records.'

The editors compared Quebec Passenger Lists to Hamburg, Germany Passenger Lists, and where the information was different, included the Hamburg information in square brackets [ ]. B1843-B330 refers to Bergthal Gemeinde Buch, page B330.

  7. Even though the Bergthal Gemeinde Buch gives her (Julian calendar) birth date twice as being in May, the only way she could have considered that her Gregorian calendar birth date was early April (as self-reported in the Sommerfeld Gemeinde Buch and the 1901 census) was if she was born in March according to the Julian calendar.
