I'm so glad I found your homepage. I was searching for Karl August Fassnacht by Google and found your page. You describe the history of the families of Johannes Fassnacht and Regina Erhardt, as well as the destiny of Elisabeth, the sister of Johannes. She gave birth to a son in 1847 in Stuttgart. He had the family name of his mother and was called Karl August Fassnacht.

Karl August Fassnacht is our great-grandfather. We all are descendants of the Fassnachts from Altensteig. I have a marriage certificate of my grandfather from 1913 who was called Carl August Fassnacht. In it, his Father Karl August Fassnacht is certificated as a witness to marriage at the age of 65. As the wedding took place on the 23rd of September in 1913, it is proved that Karl August Fassnacht was born in 1847, exactly the same date like you wrote.

I live with my family in Hannover. We have three sons. My brother Harald Fassnacht also has two kids and my sister Maleen Albers-Fassnacht lives near to me.

When you were travelling through Germany starting in Hannover in 2000, I was visiting the USA with my son Peer and his friend and we were travelling from New York through Buffalo to Toronto, a strange coincidence!

I'm 59 and an engineer, my wife Christine is also 59 and a teacher and our sons are Jan, age 29, Tim, age 27 and Peer, age 25.

Our great-grandfather Karl August moved to Hamburg at an unknown date and married.. It's unclear if he learnt his profession as a confectioner in Altensteig, Stuttgart or Hamburg and where he married.
