Julius had a shop in Fulda, Germany for 'Manufacturen' (clothes and soft drapes). He served in the German army in WWI and fell in battle in April 1917 in Jouvencourt, France. He is burried in a mass grave in Sissonne, France in the German war cemetery.

His two friends (both non Jewish) collected his personal belongings (watch, Hanukiya, pocket calender, talit and tefilin) and brought them to Julius' widow Lina Floersheim in Fulda after his death.
