Obituary for Julia Janssen Julia Janssen, 95, of Ackley, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Austinville Christian Reformed Church. Burial will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Austinville. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Friday, February 10 at the Woodley Funeral Home. Woodley Funeral Home, LLC of Iowa Falls is caring for Julia and her family. Julia (Kuperus) Janssen was born on August 10, 1921 in Pease, Minnesota to John and Hattie (Siebenga) Kuperus. She attended Christian school in Pease and later worked as a seamstress for the Globe in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She then moved to Austinville, Iowa where she worked at the Limburg Store. On March 10, 1950 she was united in marriage to Harley A. Janssen at the Austinville Christian Reformed Church. The couple farmed together in the Ackley area. Julia was an active member of the Austinville Christian Reformed Church. She enjoyed golfing, quilting and reading. She always claimed to have the “best children and grandchildren” and loved spending time with her family. Her love for her family and her strong faith in God supported her throughout her long life. Julia Janssen is survived by her children, Mary Jo (Larry) Louters of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Hollis (Ardelle) Janssen of Ackley, Iowa and Harlyn (Charlane) Janssen of Hampton, Iowa; grandchildren: Lauren (Jason) Kolfenbach, Jeremy (Michelle) Louters, Julienne (Jon) Brock, Harley (Jessica) Janssen and Michael (Tami) Janssen; step-grandchildren: Mike (Tara) Pralle and Doug (Robyn) Pralle and one sister, Grace Ubben. She was preceded in death by her husband; three brothers and four sisters. References
