MRS. SIMMONS, AGED 97, DIES AT SON'S HOUSE
Mrs. Julia A. Simmons, aged 97 years and 9 months, one of the oldest residents of St. Lawrence county, died at the home of her son, Luke Simmons, at Fullerville, near here, Friday morning at 9 following an illness of several weeks, brought about principally by her advanced age.
Mrs. Simmons was born in Ogdensburg on March 1, 1829, the daughter of Joseph Bressette Margaret Larue Bressette. Her father resided in Ogdensburg the greater part of his life and died in Canada several years ago at the age of 104 years.
When a young woman she was married to George S. Simmons who died many years ago.
She is survived by three sons, Luke of Fullerville, with whom she resided; James of Depeyster, and Claude of Fullerville; two daughters, Mrs. Ida Coopers of Ogdensburg and Mrs. Anne McKinney of West Edmonton, Canada, besides thirty-one grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. A.R.Meyers, pastor of the Edwards Community church, officiating. Interment was made in Fullerville cemetery.

Death occurred at home of Son at Fullerville-- Father Lived to Age of 101 Years --
Mrs. Julia A. Simmons, aged 98 years, died suddenly at the home of her son. Luke Simmons, at Fullerville, early Friday morning, she having been found dead in her bed, when members of the family entered her room. General debility due to old age was assigned as the cause of death.
Mrs. Simmons was born in Ogdensburg, March 1, 1829, the daughter of Joseph Bresette, a native of Canada and Margaret LaRue, a native of France. Her father lived to the age of 101 years. She was the widow of George Simmons, whose death occurred about twenty years ago.
The survivors include three sons Luke Simmons, at whose home she died, and Claude Simmons, both of Fullerville; and James Simmons, Depeyster; also two daughters, Mrs. Ida Cooper of Ogdensburg; and Mrs. Ann McKinney, West Edmonton, N.Y.; also 31 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the Community Church Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev Mr. Myers pastor of the Methodist church at Edwards, officiated and burial made in the Fullerville cemetery.
