Julia was born on the farm (Cass County, Texas near Atlanta) so her birth was attested to in court by Mrs. F.A. Crawford who witnessed the birth. The Crawfords were neighbors. The birth certificate was notarized on 6 Nov 1940. It had to be official so Julia could be employed by the government. In 1920 Census Julia R. was enumerated in her father Lester W. Boyer’s household in Cass County, Texas with her mother, Julia. She was 1 year old. The family moved to Arkansas in 1922, where she attended the 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades. The family then moved to Tucson in 1928. On entering the 4th grade at Amphitheater Elementary School, her father convinced the principal that both Julia and Lester, Jr. were smart enough to skip a grade. Judy felt that was a mistake since she never caught up with her classes and her grades were never more than just passing. Julia remembers the Hindenburg passing over Tucson. Across the street from their first house in Tucson, a lady murdered her husband. She was the last woman executed in Arizona. Judy attended 7th grade at Three Points, which was a dividing of the road about 30 miles west of Tucson on the way to Ajo. In 1930 Julia R. was enumerated in her father Lester (Elester) W. Boyer’s household at 110 N. 1st Ave, Tucson, Pima, Arizona with her mother Julia and brother Lester (Elester) Jr. She was 11 years old. Julia graduated from Tucson High School in 1935. She then attended 3 semesters at University of Arizona before leaving home and moving to California. 1944 - Judy’s divorce attorney was Walter B. Love, Jr. She was the plaintiff. Earl did not appear in court. “Julia Boyer Clevenger, an Apprentice Seaman (736 63 09) is honorably discharged from the Office of Naval Officer Procurement, Los Angeles, California and from the Naval Service of the United States this 22nd day of August 1945. Pty. Tucson, Arizona.She is identified as 5ft 10 1/2 inches, 150 lbs, brown hair and eyes, ruddy complexion. The war with Japan ended before Judy entered training as a WAVE as indicated in a 22 Aug 1945 letter from the Director Naval Officer Procurement. Both of Judy’s children were born C-section at Tucson Memorial Hospital, Arizona. In 1951 the family drove from Arizona to Georgia for a Foskey family reunion. They then lived on the farm in Cass County, Texas until 1955 when they returned to Tucson. Judy was employed at Hughes Aircraft and continued her education at night to increase her wage steps. She was also active in the Toast Mistress club. In 1964 the family moved to Montclair, California where Judy was employed at General Dynamics. She retired in 1990 at the age of seventy-two and moved to Colorado to live with her daughter. As of 2006 she is living in a group home in Richland, Washington.
