Salt Lake City UT United States Judith Tinker Hendrickson 1945 ~ 2010 Judith Tinker Hendrickson died on May 20, 2010, finally in peace after a long painful struggle with cancer. She was born in Manchester, Iowa to Donald and Lillian Tinker on May 12, 1945. Judith was educated at the Hartford Hospital School of Nursing in Hartford, Conn., Boston College in Newton, Mass. and the University of Utah. She worked as a nurse in Boston and then after moving to Utah worked for the LDS Hospital and Primary Children's Hospital. Judith was also devoted to assisting the blind and worked as the director for the Andrew Rowan Reading Room for the Blind and later was a member of the Board of Directors. One of Judith's great loves was children and after leaving nursing, she opened up her house for daycare which brought many fine memorable moments and lasting friendships for both Judith the children and their parents. Before her illness, she was Music Director for St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church. Judith was a parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church where she had sung with the choir, and also a member of the Utah Diocesan Liturgical Music Committee. Judith enjoyed skiing and other outdoor sports where she met her husband, Michael. Both were longtime members of the Wasatch Mountain Club. She also enjoyed gardening, knitting, book clubs and the Utah Opera. Judith is survived by her husband, Michael, her mother Lillian Tinker, brothers Merwin Tinker and John Tinker and sisters Mary Boyd and Kathy Nightingale. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, May 25, 2010, 12:00 p.m. at the St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 3015 East Creek Road (8000 S.) A viewing will be held Monday, May 24, 2010, at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E.
