Jost was christened on August 16, 1637. His godfather was Jost Becker ofTrupbach. Jost seems to have owned the Fischbach house at Trupbach in1664, and probably married soon afterwards.

His first wife, Maria, by whom he had no children, died at Trupbach in1696, leaving a will in which she named her husband as her sold heir, thenext heirs to be Johann Keppel of Langenholdinghausen and HenrichGerhardt of Klafeld; the witnesses were Herman Becker, JohannesOtterbach, Johannes Otterbach the younger, Herman Otterbach, and JohannesArnold, all of Trupbach, and Herman Lueck (Gerichtsprotokollen, SiegenerLandesarchiv, 14, No. 7c).
