CAPTAIN JOSIAH STARR (1657-1715)

He was three years old when his father died. At age 21, he acquired land in Hempstead, Long Island. In 1693, he and some of his neighbors relocated to Danbury, CT. He was one of the leading and prominent citizens of the town, and a large landowner. He held many governmental positions, including election as "Deputy to the General Court" in 1702, and was buried in the rear of the present Court House.[1]
