CAPTAIN JOHN STARR (1684-1739)

He lived on a large tract of land in the Beaver Brook district northeast of Danbury, now within the town of Brookfield. He was a man of wealth and prominence in Danbury, and was chosen Captain of the North Company on May 14, 1733.
