! 1. 02 Apr 1810 Georgia Passport--Through the Creek nation were approved for Thomas and Josiah Lard. This document indicated that they were from the Barnwell District of South Carolina. ! 2. 1810 Amite Co.,MS Census-- shows Thomas and Josiah Lard. Thomas 's will was dated 03 Sept.1831 (Amite Co.,MS) and indicates his children: 1 Ephraim deceased 2 Gideon, 3 Henry, 4 John. More info in my file. ! 3. 1830 Lawrence Co.,MS Census--List Josiah Lard with MALES: 1-0/5,1-5/10, 1-10/15. 2-15/20, 1-20/30, 1-30/40, 1-60/70. FEMALES; 1-5/10, 1-50/60. ! 4. 1835 Lawrence Co.,MS. Tax Roll--Josiah Sr. on the Bogue Chitto, 160 acres. ! 5. 09 Jan 1824 Lawence Co.,MS.--the indenture of Josiah Lard Sr. deeded everything he owned to his ten children, naming them as Ruthy, Jesse,David, Timothy, Josiah, Noah, John, ?Ling?, Abraham, and Elizabeth. (Book A-D-E, p. 272-3). Josiah did not mention a wife,and he made his make to the deed. The name of the child ?Ling? cannot be read clearly, and could be either male or female. The two records do establish the father of Jesse and Timothy and the fact that they were brothers. Apparently Josiah Lard had moved from SC to KY, then to MS, as Jesse was born in SC and Timothy in KY. The identity of Joseph Lard Sr. is not known. On 22 July 1826, Ruth Mccar, Jesse Lard, David Lard, Timothy Lard, and Elizabeth Lard, transferred the deed of gift to Joseph Lard Sr. (Vol B, p.15). ! 6. 1840 Lawrence Co.,MS.Census-list Josiah Lard Dr(Sr) with MALES: 1-15/20, 1-20/30, 1-70/80. FEMALES: 1-20/30, 1-40/50. His wife is not with him. ! 7. 1846 Lawrence Co.,MS. Tax Roll--Josiah Lard is listed with 160 acres. If this is Jr. or Sr. is unknown at this time.
