Madam:

  I have to advise you from the papers in the Revolutionary War pension claim S. 13664, it appears that Josiah Knight, while residing at Norwich, Connecticut, enlisted July 1, 1780 and served as a private in Captains Fitch and Spalding's Companies, Colonel Durkee's Connecticut Regiment, he was at the battle of Jamestown, and surrender of Cornwallis, and was discharged June 25, 1783.
  He was allowed pension on his application executed June 18, 1783.
  In 1819, he was living in Alburg, Grand Isle County, Vermont, aged fifty-eight years. In 1828, he was a resident of Rouso's Point, Clinton County, New York, and in 1832, he lived in the District of Montreal, Lower Canada. It is not stated whether soldier was married.
