Research notes

  • Possible middle name = Carson. Source: Josiah's stepson, Donald Dulworth, named a son "Joe Carson" Dulworth (b 1938) which suggests that "Carson" may have been Josiah's middle name.

[janiejac note: The stepchildren were all enumerated as Jacksons. Texanna Grogan, and the one year old twins Martin and Bates, were found in the 1900 census living next door to Josiah's father. Texanna was a widow in that census. Texanna and Joshia married the following year. The twins were about 2 years old when Texanna and Josiah were married; so he was the only father they knew.

Edward's age is illogical unless this was a second marriage for Josiah as well as for Texanna. I first thought the M2 on Josiah's record was an error, but after examining Edward's age and the twins ages, I tend to think it was a second marriage for him also and that Texanna was not Donald or Edward's birth mother.]
