Dec. 17th, 1872, at the home of his son, H. K. Vincent, in Farina, Ill., after a brief illness, Joshua Vincent, in the 83d year of his age. The subject of this notice had for many years been a sufferer from a chronic disease which rendered him unfit for the active duties of life and made every breath a pang, but he was never heard to murmur or complain, receiving them cheerfully, as coming only by the will of God. He took his departure not only cheerfully, but joyfully, as a happy release from the sorrows of this life and a happy entrance upon the joys of a better. He was gloriously sustained by an unfaltering trust in the justice and mercy of his Heavenly Father. He retained his faculties remarkably well until within a few hours of his final departure, when he fell peacefully asleep to waken on the "Shining Shore."
