Estate 1121, New Hampton, Chichasaw, IA In abt 1855 Josephus, Elizabethand family moved to Brodhead, Green, WI remaining there four years. In1859 they moved to New Hampton, IA where there were few settlers at thetime. New Hampton had four buildings and McGregor was the nearesttrading point. Josephus bought 122 acres in Chickasaw county with hisfarm being on the highest hill in the county. He also built the firstschool house in the county. Elizabeth cooked for the men who built thefirst railroad in New Hampton. Buried in Graceland Cemetery, NewHampton, IA in lot #35. -From Vera Bunger notes
