    that Josephine came to the marriage to Joseph as Josephine Hodgins,
    but witnesses at the marriage included one E.L Labelle. As much as
    Josephine was 27 yrs old (Joseph was 32) at the time of the marriage
    14 Jul 1902 in Centerville, MN. I think it was her second marriage and
    the name of Hodgins was her first married name. If this theory is
    correct, it could be that Genevieve was a product of the first
    marriage, and only adopted by Joseph and not both parents as many
    believe."
