He is mentioned (as eldest son) in the will of his father, dated 2 Oct 1687, probated 24 Feb 1695/6. However, he is not mentioned in the division of the estate dated 31 May 1699, presented 16 Apr. 1700.
The fact that he is mentioned in his father's will has led some to believe that he was alive in 1695/6. However, the will was written in 1687, so the will is only evidence that he was still alive in Oct 1687.
