ADDISON - Joseph B. Varley, 81, of 12750 Patch Road, Jerome, died Tuesday, June 14, 1988, at Addison Community Hospital after a period of failing health. He was born April 30, 1907, in Pittsburg, Penn., the son of Albert and Susanna Varley. He married Erlene Gunn July 23, 1939, in Kalamazoo. He was a resident of Boston, Mass., before moving to Liberty Twp., Jackson County. He was a graduate of Quincy High School in Massachusetts and Boston Technical College, Boston, Mass. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army military police division. He was a salesman for 20 years in Sears, Roebuck and Co. in Jackson, retiring in 1958. Since then, he had been a real estate salesman. ... He is survived by his wife; one brother, Richard Black of Boston, Mass., and several nieces and nephews.
