Rev. Joseph Thrapp. Pg. 57 in "History of Muskingum Twp" by Dorothy Tunis (ACPL)includes news that "About 1804, Rev. Joseph Thrap came and organized Methodist Episcopal Church in his home with four families. Later, this congregation met as Sherrard's Chapel". She added that Civil War veterans were too numerous to mention.


An 1881 history says "In 1803 he [Joseph Thrap] married Jemima, daughter of Isaac Van Camp, a pioneer, who occupied five hundred acres of land near Morgantown by virtue of a tomahawk right." [1]
