Smalley Family Posted by Bev Olsen <aolsen@@interaccess.com> on Tue, 26 Jan 1999, in response to Sheriff James Smalley b. c1735, posted by Jim Veregge on Sat, 23 Jan 1999 Surnames: Hagar, Scharfenberg, Hager My gggGrandfather Thomas Hagar had a sister Elizabeth whose first husband was a Joseph Smalley born abt.1792. He died 30 March 1845 and is buried in Mead Cemetery. I don't know if he would be connected with your Sherrif Smalley, but the person who helped me with this info said that Joseph and Elizabeth's son William D. Smalley (1828-1911)claimed descent from the early Kent Co. Smalleys. I see in your query that a Mercy Smalley married a John Henion. Two of Elizabeth Hagar's sisters married Henions; Chloe Hagar (1813-1902) married John Henion born 2 June 1811. Margaret Hagar married Zachariah Henion. Hope this info is of some use.
