Skating Rink, DeKalb, Bowie, TexasJoe and Frankie operated a skating rink in DeKalb, Texas until his death. The rink was located close to the high school by the local hangout called the "stand." It had a coke machine and you could get either the clamp-on skates or the 'boot' kind. The kids would skate to music played on the jukebox. After Joe's death, Frankie continued to run the rink for a while until it got in too bad of shape. She and her husband eventually tore it down and used the wood in their new house. |
