DR. SYLVANUS R. VOORIlEES was one of twins, born October 31, 1831. His twin-brother died in infancy . He was brought up upon a farm, and for some fifteen years employed his winter. in teaching. In connection with his teaching he read medicine, and in 1868 graduated at the Miami Medical College, of Cincinnati. He at once began practice in Mason, in partnership with Dr. J. G. Paulding, which firm was discontinued some four months later, owing to an illness· of Dr. P. Dr. Voorhees has continued the practice, and is now a prominent physician of Mason. He has been twice married. His first wife was Jennie E. Robison, of Ohio. His second, Eliza E. McKeehan, of Indiana.
