Mr. and Mrs. Earl Benjamin and family, Mrs. Donald Dilly and MarieJane were dinner guests in the Carl Olson home Sunday. They were accompanied home by Mary Ellen Benjamin who had spent the week in the Olson home. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Olson and Hanford Olson were also visitors in the Olson home. JOSEPH HANFORD OLSON Joseph Hanford Olson, 39, farmer in the Wild Rose vicinity, died Wednesday, June 3, at River Pines Sanatorium. He became ill a year ago and entered the sanatorium last February 18. Mr. Olson, oldest son of Mrs. Albert Olson and the late Mr. Olson, was born on October 4, 1896, in the Town of New Hope. His marriage to Miss Eva Bade took place on December 6, 1916. The couple lived on a farm in the Town of Wild Rose, Waushara County, for two years. They then moved to the Almond vicinity where they resided until 1927. At that time they took over the John Bade homestead and also worked the Frank LePage farm after the death of Mr. LePage. Surviving are his wife and seven children, Marvin, Vilas, Laverne, Mavis, Anna Vonda, Phillip and Elvera; his mother and three brothers, Clarence, and Alvin of the Town of Oasis and Rev. Louis Olson of Milwaukee. His father died on January 1, 1936, and a younger brother passed away in October, 1922. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 6, at the Wild Rose Baptist Church and burial followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery. SOURCE: STEVENS POINT JOURNAL, Stevens Point, Wisconsin; June 16, 1936. HANFORD OLSON The funeral of Hanford Olson of the Town of Rose, Waushara County, was held at 10 o'clock at the Baptist Church at Wild Rose on Saturday afternoon, Rev. J. C. Wanamaker of Wild Rose officiating. Burial took place in the Wild Rose Cemetery. Mr. Olson, the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Olson, was born in New Hope, Wisconsin. He was married to Eva Bade. Mr. Olson had been ailing for about a year. On February 18, 1936, he entered River Pines Sanatorium at Stevens Point, where he died Wednesday afternoon. Besides his wife and seven children, Mr. Olson is survived by his mother, three brothers, Clarence and Alvin of Oasis and Rev. Lewis Olson of Milwaukee. His father passed away on January 1, 1936.
