List 33. In the Ind. attack 25 Jan. 1691-2, he and one or more sons were taken; his w. (probate records indicate she was dau. of Francis Littlefield 16) is not ment. as a captive or as alive later, and prob. was then k. He d. in captivity; his inv., ‘who was taken by the Inds.,’ 12 Oct. 1692. Francis Littlefield, sr., was admr. 12 Dec. 1692 to 1695+; Jan. 3, 1699-1700 adm. was gr. to the br. Jeremiah, who demanded (but did not get) the est. from John Heard (he had wintered cows for Joseph bef. his captiv.); in Oct. 1718 Mr. Jeremiah M. (poss. the son) asked for an addi. invent. 4 sons, all of York and 3 of age in 1706 (Y. D. 7: 51, 216). John, his keeping until he went out to service came to £12. Mariner, Portsm. (but of Kit. 1723), he m. Dorothy Cogswell (Wm. of Ipsw.), who as D. C. was at Moses Paul’s in Portsm. in 1713. He d. at Antigua; appraisers Newc. men; adm. 20 Sept. 1725 to wid.
