Joseph Cleophas LeBlanc, age 66 passed away Sept. 21, 2014 surrounded by family and friends. A lovely and loving man Joe touched the hearts of all who knew him and many whose paths he crossed. A brighter star nor a more vivid rainbow has ever graced our skies. A veteran of Vietnam Joe saved life and limb on the battlefield as a Green Beret Medic and after nursing school as a Navy Nurse. Joe retired from the Navy and his service career included the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for heroic actions. Citations that even his closest friends were never made aware. Joe had a masters degree in Nursing and worked in several positions throughout the New Orleans area as a Nurse Practitioner until his passing. His chosen career was indicative of Joe's soul and desire to help others. Many remember Joe for his love of Tie-Dye and music as Joe would be front and center at every festival and music event. He and wife Amy were always up front, smiling and constantly dancing. Joe had many great qualities but is missed mostly for his love of life and happy times with friends and family. The mere sight of Joe was always met with smiles and a festive atmosphere. Joe is missed by the loves of his life wife Amy, daughter Jolie, and son Jason (Aynsley), friends, and siblings Linda, Janet, Cleo, Peggy, Ruth, Raymond, and Jeanne. He also will be missed by visitors that were lucky enough to have met a great example of the goodness of this great city. A great man.
