"Joseph Huse fought in the Revolution. In 1782 he removed to Sanbornton, NH, about 6 miles N.N.W. of Amesbury, where he built and owned the first mills. At his death, in 1827, he willed the mills to his nephew Joseph. His brothers John and William joined him in Sanbornton about 1783.
"An entry in an old family bible in the possession of Mr. Mark H. Moody reads as follows: 'Joseph Huse died 10 July 1827 aged 76 years 3 months 22 days.' Thi would make the date of his birth 18 March 1749 instead of 2 March, as shown in the town records of Amesbury. The records of Second Parish, Amesbury, show that Joseph was baptized 9 April 1749. Joseph Huse was on a town committee in Sanbornton 4 April 1796. S1

    Joseph, 6th child of Doctor Nathan Huse and Rachel Sargent, was born in Amesbury, Mass., 2 March 1749 and died in Sanbornton, NH, 10 July 1827 (family bible). He married, 14 July 1774, Zerinah Sherburne of Kensington, NH, who died in Kensington 17 April 1776 aged 22 years. He married, second, Hannah Morrison (wid. Pease) who died 12 December 1824 aged 73 years, leaving no descendants.
