    Joseph3 Hoyt, b. June 12,1686 ; m. Hannah Finch, June 6, 1728; lived in Stamford; d. May 19 [or 20], 1730. His ear mark was ent. at S., March, 1706-7. His father gave him land in S., at "Shiphand," E. of Noroton River (with building), on "tobacco lott hill," at Shaw Swamp, and at "heagquech," Aug. 17, 1713. He sold to his brother Nathan lot, house, and barn, E. of Noroton River, and bought other land of him, July, 1720. There are also on record other deeds to his brothers Jonathan and Nathan, and others, from 1722 to '27. He had one child, Hannah4, b. Oct. 23, d. Dec. 25, 1729; but he died without issue and without will, leaving an estate of some £650, which was divided among his widow and his brothers and sisters and their heirs, in 1731. Wid. Hannah m. Thomas Waterbury before Aug., 1738.
