[Note: similar date mismatch reported for the twin, Benjamin Franklin Holman, aka Franklin Holman in the church record, which clearly represents their baptism. Clearly 1797 has been misread as 1799 since a different child's birth is recorded in Dec 1799, not to mention, the coincidence of two sets of twins born for the Feb 1798 baptism and the as-recorded 1799 birth would be unbelievable.]

  4. Source:Brainard, Lucy Abigail. Genealogy of the Brainerd-Brainard Family in America (1908), pt. 4-7, p. 95, says Polly M. Brainerd m. 9 Dec 1821 Joseph Stillman Holman who d. 5 March 1882. This may be the source of the death date posted here. This source also says wife Polly died in Feb 1846, but both the 1850 census {cited above} and the 1870 census (line 39-40) show Joseph married to a "Polly A." Further research is needed, but given the census shows a wife born 1808-1810, she appears too young have been the wife Joseph married in 1821, so it appears he had two different wives, both named Polly.
