Joseph DUGAS, son of Joseph & Marguerite RICHARD, born (Belle-Ile-en-Mer Register) at Isle Royale around 1714, was named in a 1733 Louisbourg succession at age 19 years. He married 1st around 1740 to Marguerite LE BLANC, daughter of Joseph & Anne BOURG. He was on the 1752 (LaRoque) census, age 38 years. As a widower of Marguerite LeBLANC he married 2nd at Che'dabouctou 2 Oct 1762 to Louise (Isabelle) ARSENEAU, daughter of Abraham & Jeanne GAUDET (widow of Jean VIGNEAU dit MAURICE); marriage was rehabilitated (Miquelon Register) 29 May 1766. He was on 1763 census at Halifax; on 1767 census at Miquelon, age 53 years; in 1776, age 63 years. He was on 1778 list of arrivals at St-Malo, age 66 years. Born 1713, Joseph married 1st around 1741 to Marguerite LE BLANC, daughter of Joseph & Anne BOURG; seven children. He married 2nd at Chedabouctou on 2 Oct 1762 (rehabilitated at Miquelon on 29 May 1766) to Louise ARSENEAU, daughter of Abraham & Jeanne GAUDET. Kept prisoner at Halifax, Joseph was at Miquelon in 1766. [Are his 2nd wife's parents correct?] On p. 2230 (Isle Miquelon) Joseph, born 1713, son of Joseph & Marguerite RICHARD of Grand Pré, married 1st to Marguerite LeBlanc, daughter of Joseph & Anne BOURG. He married 2nd to Louise ARSENEAU, daughter of Abraham & Jeanne GAUDET. Joseph DUGAST, born about 1713, son of Joseph & Marguerite RICHARD, married 1st about 1741 to Marguerite LEBLANC. In 1752 he and wife and five children were residents of Port-Toulouse on Isle Royale. He married 2nd on 2 Oct 1762 at Chedabouctou (reinstated on 29 May 1766 at Notre-Dame-des-Ardiliers at Miquelon) to Louise ARSENAULT; six children listed. On 13 Nov 1767 he and his 2nd wife and two children arrived at St. Malo from St. Pierre and Miquelon on the schooner "La Creole." On 16 Mar 1768 the family returned to St. Pierre and Miquelon. He and his 2nd wife returned to St. Malo from there on 6 Nov 1778 on the brigantine "La Jeannette." Joseph died on 10 Jan 1779 at age 63; buried 11 Jan 1779 at St. Servan, Ille-et-Vilaine, France.
