Will of "Joseph Carter of Woobourne ... curryour", dated 4 Apr 1688, proved 14 Mar 1692/93, "with refferance to my homsted which was my fathers: the use of the one halfe of it belonging to my honoured Mother ... my s'd Honoured mother Susanah Ecles", names "cuzzen James foull", wife Bethyah, children under age, two eldest sons Josiph and John to split homestead [Joseph as older to get half with house], son Henry, the three sons paying their three sisters: Bethyah my Eldest daughter [only twenty shillings "because she hath been a stobourne untoward child in my lifetime"], Susanah & Abigal. Son Joseph to be executor when he comes of age, or John if Joseph dies prior to that, friends Joseph Wright and Henry Somers to be overseers.
