Facts and Events
Jonathan Perry was baptised on 11th November 1753 at Eversholt in Bedfordshire, son of Ann Perry, formerly Warren, and her husband Thomas Perry.
On 1st January 1775, aged 21, Jonathan married Elizabeth Briden at Caddington, about eleven miles south of Eversholt. They stayed in Caddington for a while after their marriage, having a daughter baptised there the following year, although she appears to have died young. It would appear that whilst living in Caddington it became Jonathan's legal place of settlement.
Some time between 1776 and 1785 Jonathan returned to Eversholt, where he and Elizabeth had a further six children baptised between 1785 and 1796, although as two were called Ann and two called Mary it seems likely that some died young.
In 1805 Jonathan took ill. As Caddington remained his legal parish of settlement, that parish was responsible for his upkeep if became unable to care for himself. The officials at Eversholt had to write to the officials at Caddington requesting they pay for medical attention for Jonathan. It seems he was attended by a doctor between at least February and April that year.
Jonathan died later that year, being buried at Eversholt on 9th October 1805. He was 51 years old. It is not clear when Elizabeth died.
