He married Phebe Moore on 3 January 1792, in Bath, Virginia, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons. He lived in Bath, Virginia, United States for about 10 years. He died on 23 January 1831, in Buckeye, Pocahontas, Virginia, United States, at the age of 60.
