Took oath of allegiance in 1678 and was made a freeman April 19, 1691. He was a member of Co. Samuel Appleton's command at the "Great Swamp Fight" during King Philip's War. Jonathan was wounded in the shoulder in the battle of Narragansett Fort on December 19, 1675.

From Garard, Emery and Allied Families, p 45: His will dated, February 6, 1722-23, was proved October 7, 1723.
