From the Biographical Record of the Officer and Graduates of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, 1824-1886: He is the descendant of the orginal New England stock, Edward Winslow, the first of the family in this country, and Governor of Plymouth Colony, and his brother Gilbert, being among the original passsengers by the historic Mayflower.
