Note: Not much is known about John although we know he was a soldier intheRevolution and had been captured by the British along with hisbrother in August 1780. John apparently moved to the Williamson Countyarea of Tennessee before 1810. I believe John Wilson died in the fall of1826 and this is why he was not mentioned as an heir in the estate of hisbrother Aaron Wilson in 1832. See Probate of John Wilson, 1827. SarahWilson was the administratorix of the estate of John Wilson in January1827 so it's possible he was married. However, since no children of JohnWilson were named as heirs in the Aaron Wilson estate, it is possibleJohn Wilson had no heirs.

The articles in this account, which are primarily personal items, do notseem appropriate for a married man with a family, and yet his title islisted as "Senior". Another record (of John Jackson) says John Wilsondied 1838, four children, and yet another says John Henderson Wilson1753-1833 married Susannah Boone. Another says, John Wilson the son ofRobert & Eleanor Wilson married Ann Meek. All these "Johns" are mixed upin research and the following is a list of several who died in the areaof Tennessee. The list does not include Bedford or Sumner County. TheJohn H. Wilson (wife Susannah) who died in 1838 was the son of JamesWilson.
