Searching for information on John Wilson, born 1730, Berks Co, Pa. He married Rebecca??? and moved to Rowan Co. NC. He owned 318 acres on Potts Creek. Had at least one son John Wilson, Jr who was married to Sarah Boone. There were at least two John Wilson's in NC, in the same area, both in army, both married to women named Rebecca. I have really hit that brick wall and would appreciate any and all information...even hints. Thank you.

Individual Note:

    Rowan County Miniature

John Wilson of Rowan Count "North Carolina" by Darlene white-Cole* and Jo White Linn, C.G. John Wilison is more easily identified in death than life, although the NC Archives has combined the loose esates settlemnets of this man with those of the John Wilson who married Sarah Boone, an understandable error, since they died in the same time-period, intestate, both with minor children with similar names, lived inthe same area of Rowan that became Daidson, sharing neighbors as securities, witnesses, etc., both marrying women named Sarah. Except fo the land divisions, if would be very difficult to separate the families of these two John Wilson's.

John WILSON was dead by November 1800, at which time "a true statement of his Real & Personal Chattell & Goods" was filed by Sarah and Boyd Wilson (NC State Real & Personal Chattell & Goods" was filed by Sarah and Boyd Wilson (NC State Archives, Loose Estates Papers #C.R.85.08.163) At August Court 1801, the widow Sarah, widow & relict of John Wilson deceased, two of the sons of the deceased being of full age 21, humbly petitioned forthe division of the real property of their deceased father among "all his childen, Which is your two (2) petitioners, & two (2) other Brothers & two (2) sistors - one of which Brothers named: John Wilson is of ful age of (14) - The other Brother named Hiram & two (2) sisters name Mary & Rachel is miners

"Your petitioners, being both of full age of (21) years. Prays your worships to appoint gardian for the minors & commissioner & surveyers to lay of(f) the land in equal shares. And your petitioners as in duty boud will pray God."

John Wilson married Sarah McCune 12 Nov 1733 in Cleveland County, North Carolina. Sealed 29 Nov 1962 LANGE Close but do not believe this is our ancestor, but may be.
