He lived in Torrington. In a book of records, kept by the Rev. Nathaniel Roberts, first pastor of Torrington church, the following entry appears: "John Wetmore and Elizabeth his wife owned Covenant, Kime 18, 1758." He was killed Aug. 27, 1795, while riding on horseback, on the highway, by the falling of a tree during a heavy thunder storm.[1] References
